TOPSHOP

So my Topshop package arrived this morning! =))
As soon as Christmas ended, I decided I would avoid the over-crowding stores and start my sales online instead-- and quite frankly, I'm pretty pleased with what I bought [and the value of it xP] since I'm always quite reluctant to buy clothes online.

Summary of what I bought

-- photos taken from topshop.com

The whole outfit has that Rock-Chic vibe which I wasn't intentionally going for, but I guess I'm just naturally attracted to this style. xP

Oh my gosh, I'm actually in LOVE with these shoes!!  I've always wanted a pair of Shark Caged Platforms, and since these dropped from £75 to £40 I literally couldn't resist, and I'm pretty chuffed that I got the last pair of these in my size! =))

Pocket Flannel Mini Skirt

A Studio Brand shirt by Illustrated People

To be honest, it wasn't what I expected because I thought it was going to be a jumper.. But in actual fact the material is really thin, and I bought a size too big since on the website, they didn't state the measurements, so I assumed it a jumper size. Unfortunately, its only returnable/exchangable via the website or in the London Topshop.

.. and finally I got a Ribbon Bangle Set reduced from £12 to £6. I don't usually buy jewellery from Topshop, but I thought I'd take advantage of this deal. xP

Ulzzang: Park Yong Hee

Park Yong Hee, as previously mentioned on my old xanga, has always been a favourite Ulzzang of mine. Although her style is not your typical girly Ulzzang, she has a very androgynous look that defines Rock + Chic which I've always been into. [kinda like Agyness Deyn]

She models for Saigo which is a Korean online unisex clothes store closely linked to Japanese fashion, and despite her delicate features, I think she pulls off this tomboy look very nicely! =))

dayuumm-- why she so cool? xD

Tis the season..

.. to be spending..
.. to be skint..
.. to have arguements..
.. to have an overdose of chocolates and alcohol.
.. to get fat..
.. to be revising..
.. to just.... waste time..

Am I correct?

For the past several years, Christmas has just lost its festive touch and meaning for me.
I remember when I was little, I used to get really excited for Christmas, to the point where I couldn't go to sleep! On Christmas Day, we would wait until about midday to open presents with the camcorder all set up to record our reactions. [hahah oh the days!]

Now, Christmas has just slowly faded away in our family.. hear this out. you'll be shocked to your very core...

This year:
- We have no Christmas tree, no Christmas decorations
- I haven't written ANY Christmas cards
- Bought no presents for my family

Before you start thinking, "OMG NO PRESENTS FOR YOUR FAMILY?!" the truth is.. our family has agreed not to spend on each other with useless things that are going gather dust in one corner. Honestly speaking, I buy myself stuff I want anyway, so when it comes to Christmas, theres truly nothing I want. I rather just buy from the January sales and save money then. =)).

I swear.. every year gets worse and worse for me..

But on a happier note..

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas
and got everything they wished for!! =))

The Saturdays

So I don't usually post anything to do with English Pop, but in courtesy of Winnie Leung, I decided to dedicate this entry to her. [follow her, she needs friends xDD]

The Saturdays recently released their 2nd album Wordshaker with Ego as one of their official singles. I'm not going to lie, I've had this song on repeat for 2 days running, and I'm still haven't got tired of it.
Ego has a dark electropop vibe combined with a thumping beat which gets my head nodding every time and whats more, their music video with the girls donning superhero lyrca outfits has got Winnie dribbling.. xD

Ok, I exaggerate. Just to clarify [before she pelts bullets of insults at me], Winnie is not a lesbian, but what I can say is that Winnie has been in awe with Una's  ... chest area.

You'll understand when you see this..

a-huh-- screen shot taken by yours truly.

I can't say its not impressive, but maybe its just the outfit thats accentuating them a little bit more ya'know? xP
But overall, the girls look amazing in this video, so check out Ego below. =))

CLOTHES SHOW LIVE 2009 [Picture Heavy]

This year, I had another opportunity to check out the Clothes Show Live again at Birmingham! I can't say it was any different from last year... as it was once again PACKED with people! Although the fashion show itself was something completely different! I even recognised some of the models that were there last year! =))

Here are just a few pictures to share: (I apologise for the quality.. I sat too far away to see properly!)

Gok Wan, Ferne Cotton and two other people from the cast of  Hollyoaks hosted. =))

VICE-- a new boyband whom I've never heard of, performed.

pwhoar! xP

To be honest, I didn't get much this time..unlike last year where I brought back 5 bags of goodies. I only got some Rimmel make-up and this dress which I bargined for £15! ;)
There were just too many people, and I knew I got most of the stuff from last year anyway, so I didn't have to queue for too long. =))

Happy [Snowy] Days!

So snow came early this year, and surprisingly, it did not fall in measly quantities, but instead, it came in a huge blizzard that lasted for several hours!! =))

Its definitely something quite unexpected for the UK, because usually, snow falls at around February/March time, but.... I'm thinking.. a White Christmas anybody?? =))

What I LOVE about snow days .. is that whenever it does decide to fall, everything becomes chaotic.
School got cancelled today, but I was rather looking forward to my last day, mainly because..

- I'd only have ONE lesson.
- School Staff Panto!!
- and.. receiving/sending presents for my class stockings.

but everything has been arranged so we can go to school on monday to sort out presents and to grab my folders to do some hardcore revisiong over the holidays. >_<;;

However, snowy conditions are definitely not suitable for driving. I had to drive home on Thursday night--when the blizzard started-- into town to finish buying stuff for my class, then to Tescos and back home! It really was quite scary.. which was why I decided to stay home for the day today and do some photography [although not very good.. ]

My Sister

agh yea. my face. - wearing Geo Nudy Blue circle lens. =))

This photo didn't take quite correctly... xD First of all.. the hair is placed weird, my chin is cut off and the expression is just.. err. yea But I guess the lighting is great!

And just some normal camera pictures taken as soon as I woke up!

Outside my house at 10am

I love fresh snow! <3

my car + my dad's car under snow.

Christmas is nearly here, I'm hoping to do more shopping on Sunday, but I guess I'll just have to see because its forecasted with more snow during the weekend! >_<;;

Shimizu Shota

Shimizu Shota, a Japanese musician-- who I have totally grown fond of, and in my opinion is very underrated-- has recently released his single 君が好き(Kimi Ga Suki).

Having already released 4 singles and an album, Shota is known for his R'n'B music [which typically does not gain as much recognition in Japan] accompanied with his smooth soulful voice.

Shota has collaborated with artists such as Miliyah Kato - 'Love Forever' and M-Flo on his Tribute Album with the song 'Let Go' originially sang by M-Flo loves Yoshika. His remake of the song Let Go has a slower beat, but you can definitely tell he's added his personal touch on it to boast his amazing vocals. =))

Having achieved so much at only the age of 20, I hope he continues to make it big in the future! =))

Check out his recent release 君が好き(Kimi Ga Suki)

My Mini Sasa Haul

So my dad came back from Hong Kong recently with a few things I wanted from Sasa.
Unfortunately.. he didn't come back with everything I wanted, but thats ok-- I got the more important stuff anyway. =))

First of all.. I'd like to introduce you the wonder 'My Beauty Diary' facial masks which originates from Taiwan.

I've heard a lot of amazing reviews about them, so I got my Dad to get me some from Sasa HK since they were on sale, however he only came back with 3 boxes when I asked for like 10. xD

Cooling Mask (冰沁活氧面膜)
Main Ingredients:
Witch Hazel, Amica
- Soothes skin
Menthol, Peppermint
- Lowers skin temperature
Calendula, Scotch Broom
- Softens skin
Compound extracts of Yeast
- Nourishes and moisturizes skin

Appeals/Characteristics:
Cools, soothes and nourishes skin  for use on normal skin
I only tried this once, and WOW, its like instant coolness on your skin! Its an extremely nice feeling!

Bulgarian White Rose Mask (保加麗亞玫瑰面膜)
Main Ingredients:
Bulgarian Rose Hydrosol
- Soothes, refreshes and moisturizes
Licorice, Kiwi
- Whitens skin
Aloe, Cucumber
- calms and soothes skin, moisturizes

Appeals/Characteristics:
Offers radiance with translucent, glowing look of skin by its softening effect moisturizing, smoothing, firming for use on normal skin, especially for dull skin lacking radiance.

I have yet to try this one! Just the name of this mask makes it smell nice!

Yogurt Mask (優酪乳面膜)
Yogurt
- Deeply nourishes and maintains fresh skin condition and moisture content.
Witch Hazel
- Soothes, moisturizes deeper stratum of skin
Hyaluronic Acid
- Prevents moisture evaporation; nourishes stratum corneum of skin

One of the main reasons as to why I got this particular mask, was because it has oil control. My skin gets oily really easily, and I wanted to try something that can reduce my oily-ness. I wore this once to bed, and even it was once.. I still felt a small difference. My skin the next day was not as oily as it usually was, and it my whole face just felt  a lot smoother! It hasn't got a strong essence, but you can definitely tell its a yogurt smell! =))

This is a Cream Eyeliner pot which comes with the brush from SUKI, a Japanese brand.
I've tested it out, but I wasn't expecting it to be that sparkly. Overall, I'm satisfied, I haven't really used gel eye-liner before, so it should be good to use when going out.

and last but not least.. my BB CREAMS!
These are popularly used all throughout Asia, and this huge sensation derived from South Korea and is the secret as to why female Korean celebrities have such flawness skin!
I already own 2 other BB creams, but I wanted to try these ones out, as they are the most popular ones used in Korea. I'll post some comparisons in a later blog.
