Meet Hatsune Miku

Not something I would usually post about.. but ever since one of my friends posted a link of Hatsune Miku on facebook, I've been forever fascinated!

Unsurprisingly a Japanese innovation, Hatsune Miku, a supposed 18 year old, is the first virtual Vocaloid singing sensation developed in Japan, and thats not even where my fascination begins! She has played at sold-out concerts with fans of more than 25,000 as a 3D hologram! Its craaazy in the sense that people (mainly little girl/anime-obessed guys) would become so obsessed over an animation! If you don't believe me, check the following clips out!

Maybe her songs aren't my cup of tea, but I'm just totally engrossed in the fact that such technology exists in producing one of these amazing virtual singers! Talk about manufactured popstars!!
The Japanese music industry has now reached to a whole new level! LOL

02 - Music.File ♪: MAY

I'm sure all you K-POP lovers out there know that May is the month of comebacks from various artists including Wonder Girls, Super Junior, MBLAQ, f(x), C.N Blue, Seo In Young and the list goes onnnn!

Instead of writing about the well known groups, I'm going to shine some light on 2 particular comebacks that I'm glad are back in the music scene. =))

8eight - The Bridge (EP)
8eight is a power ballad trio who won their rise to fame through a singing programme called Show Survival (쇼 서바이벌) -- a Korean equivalent to Pop Idol. Although, they aren't your typical Korean idols, they are incredibly talented and produce the most heart-wrenching songs.
Check out 이별이 온다 The Approaching Goodbye with Nichkun (2PM) as the lead in the MV! ;)

Davichi - Innocence
I have been a HUGE fan of Davichi since their release of their first album AMARANTH back in 2008 and having disappeared for over a year after promoting Davichi in Wonderland, I was incredibly excited when they released their mini-album Innocence! Similar to 8282, their song 시간아 멈춰라 (Time Please Stop) combines punk rock with ballad wheresa 8282 combines dance and ballad. And ofcourse Davichi makes it work-- Its always interesting when songs have that twist! =))

Coincidently, both are ballad groups! I think ballad groups get overshadowed by major K-Pop groups. They need more recognition in my opinion!

Just sidetracking a bit.. has anyone seen MBLAQ's teaser? OMG. LEE JOON. I've completely fallen head over heels for this guy.. why is he so hot!? -- sorry, fangirl moment there!
I'm so psyched about MBLAQ's comeback! Catchy song + Hot teaser -- looks promising! xP

01 - Music.File ♪: March

I'm now dedicating a monthly post Music.File ♪ on music that I've been listening to in that month. It won't necessarily be on Kpop, but a mixture of other genres that I've felt like listening to. xP

So in March: top 10 in no particular order.. (click to listen)

→ Girl's Generation - Run Devil Run [KPOP]
→ Girl's Generation - 별별별 (☆★☆) (Star Star Star) [KPOP]
→ ICONIQ (Ahyoomi Lee) - Change Myself  [JPOP]
→ Rain - 널 붙잡을 노래 (Love Song) [KPOP]
→ 2AM잘못했어 (I Did Wrong) [KPOP]
→ Epik High - Word Kill [KPOP]

→ Epik High - Over [KPOP] -- I find this song incredibly inspiring.
→ Kato Miliyah - BYE BYE [JPOP]
→ Kana Nishino - Dear.. [JPOP]
→ 4Men - First Kiss [KPOP]

I've also been listening to a bunch of remixes created by some of the most talented people! They are a must listen because for some, I actually like the remix version more than the original!

2NE1 - Try To Copy Me [PDM Remix]

Taeyang - Wedding Dress [Robotaki Remix]

After School - Bang! [REXROWDEE Remix]
