Landann

I spent my last weekend with 3 of my international friends in London. One Canadian, American and Australian. Took them to all the touristy places we could go in 2 days and 3 nights! To be honest.. I felt like I failed as a tour guide! We managed to get lost twice.. and on the Sunday, I woke up 2 hours later than I was supposed to!! Oh wells, I think they survived alright without me! xP

It was nice being back down in the south again.. as much as I'm enjoying being in Leeds, its just not the same in the north! Although being back in London meant I could go home.. I didn't manage to do that. I felt kinda bad not seeing my family when I was so close to home. However, I did manage to meet up with my mother and 3 of my cousins! =))

Only 2 weeks left of uni and then I'm homebound!!

On the London Eye overlooking Parliament and the Big Ben -- although not the nicest of all weather!

Clubbing in London with my Canadian friend.. hence why I got up so late on the sunday!

The 3 tourists lol

Hardcore protesters camping outside parliament

I didn't manage to take many photos to be honest.. didn't feel the need to since I'm most likely to see all this stuff again within a month or so! xP I was too busy taking photos of my friends for them! xP But overall, I had a good time! =))

I was expecting to buy a lot in London.. but I only managed to get a pair of nice warm shoes from Topshop
MILEY Fur Buckle Boots - £36
I've been on a long hunt for shoes like these.. ! Every winter.. I survive with wearing pumps and converses because I just don't see the appeal in UGGS. Thats why as soon as I saw these, I had to get them! Now my feet are finally warm! eeeee =))

Shopping continued back in Leeds...

LUCCA Silky Floral Zip Playsuit - £55

I actually tried this on when I was in London.. but I didn't feel like I needed to buy it. However, as soon as I got to Leeds, I regretted my decision and decided to purchase it at Urban Outfitters! Oh my bank account!!

My temptation does not stop there unfortunately... ASOS sent an email round offering next day delivery on all orders placed before 5pm on Thursday. Sooo... had a quick browse and bought a dress. *sighs*

MOTEL Lace Insert Dress - £25

It looks provocative.. but it's actually not too bad! Overall.. happy buy! =)) Plus I needed something for my birthday anyway!

Topshop Student 20% off excitement!

So for all Topshop lovers out there, if you didn't know, Topshop had a special event catered specifically towards us poor students! xP
20% off on all their stock between 6-10pm on specific days depending where you are in the UK. Although it started 2 weeks ago, there are still a few places doing it this week! Soo.. if you're interested, check out their facebook event!

So in Leeds, the event happened last week for 2 days. I went with my friend to check it out on wednesday. We got there at about 5.45pm and the queue was already like a mile long already! o_O; But luckily... as soon as they opened their doors, it moved pretty quickly. But as you imagine, with a queue that long... the place was pretty crowded!

I managed to find 2 pieces of clothing that I quite liked.. but the queue to the changing rooms was maahoosive, so they had to direct half of the line towards the Topman changing rooms which wasn't so bad of a wait after all!

So enough talk.. here's what I managed to get.

An oversized knitted shawl cardigan

Drape pocket Hareem trousers

The two combined was £78 but with the 20% off, it came to £62.40.. T_T My bank account is running dry far too quickly nowadays! But since I spent over £50, they gave me a free fabric Topshop bag with a few goodies such as a mirror, sweets and some face cream. =))

I've never actually bought any trousers from Topshop before, and the idea of hareem style never really appealed, but for some reason, I really liked the ones I bought!

But yeah.. I can't afford to spend anymore now. I need to start living like a hermit again! xP

I have made it! -- End of exams!

My last exam finally ended this morning at 10.41am!! Words cannot express just how relieved I feel!! I'm just happy to get my life back now! haha!

Finally time for some blogging which I haven't done is such a LONG TIME!! =))

After exams today, I went straight to Bluewater (shopping centre) for some major retail therapy. Although my main aim was to actually buy a macbook pro for uni, I didn't manage to get one in the end because I didn't bring the right acceptance letter to prove that I'm going to be a uni student! argghhh! that annoyed me! But I shall be heading back on Thursday! =)) Can't wait!

Honestly, I was too annoyed to spend so I didn't manage to buy that much.. what a "major" retail therapy that was! haha

But I'll still share what I got anyway since I have ALL the time in the world now! =))

Topshop recently launched their new make-up line, so I thought I'd have a browse and see what the hype was all about. Personally, I wasn't really drawn to any of the make-up.. they were all the typical mascaras, liners, blushes, nothing really stood out.. plus I thought the packaging was a bit naff.
BUT I did like the nail polishes! They have loads in a variety of colours, and I couldn't help but get the 2 above (excluding the base/top coat).

The ones I got are called "Gone Fishing" and "Bee's knees" . =))

*update: sorry I couldn't take a better photo.. but thats how 'gone fishing' looks like. =))

Also from Topshop.. I got this really nice patterned clutch bag which was on sale from £35 to £20! Bargain if you ask me! =)) so obviously I couldn't resist, and since my Ball is tomorrow, I thought this went well with my cream outfit.. !

So I'm afraid that concludes my "big" spend of the day.. really not much at all. But now I have loads of time.. I'm going to blog more regularly! =)) Happy times indeeeed!

TOPSHOP Spring Summer Collections 2010 and Kiki Kang

Topshop has recently released their 2010 Spring Collection and after having a quick browse, I think I can safely say that this will not be the last you'll see of Floral!
I'm actually really liking this new collection, because its totally different from their previous collection of graphic prints, retro Americana style pieces or metallic leggings which I wasn't particularly into. This year's one is certainly looking promising and what's more, is that they're using Kiki Kang as one of their Ad Campaigners.

At first glance, you can definitely tell that Kiki Kang is completely different from other Asian models in the industry. Unlike the majority, she has a healthy tan and a unique face that can easily be distinguished. The 18 year old from Sichuan, China has made her name through several fashion shows such as Tsumori Chisato, Jean Paul Gautier and Hermes. And as mentioned before, Kiki has recently scored an impressive ad campaign with Topshop.
Although she's still not incredibly well-known, she definitely has a fresh and versatile look that sets her aside from other typical fair complexioned Asian models.

I hope she continues to make it big in the future!

TOPSHOP

So my Topshop package arrived this morning! =))
As soon as Christmas ended, I decided I would avoid the over-crowding stores and start my sales online instead-- and quite frankly, I'm pretty pleased with what I bought [and the value of it xP] since I'm always quite reluctant to buy clothes online.

Summary of what I bought

-- photos taken from topshop.com

The whole outfit has that Rock-Chic vibe which I wasn't intentionally going for, but I guess I'm just naturally attracted to this style. xP

Oh my gosh, I'm actually in LOVE with these shoes!!  I've always wanted a pair of Shark Caged Platforms, and since these dropped from £75 to £40 I literally couldn't resist, and I'm pretty chuffed that I got the last pair of these in my size! =))

Pocket Flannel Mini Skirt

A Studio Brand shirt by Illustrated People

To be honest, it wasn't what I expected because I thought it was going to be a jumper.. But in actual fact the material is really thin, and I bought a size too big since on the website, they didn't state the measurements, so I assumed it a jumper size. Unfortunately, its only returnable/exchangable via the website or in the London Topshop.

.. and finally I got a Ribbon Bangle Set reduced from £12 to £6. I don't usually buy jewellery from Topshop, but I thought I'd take advantage of this deal. xP
