Halloween 2011: Mysterious Lace

Costumes and dressing up are never my forte.. It took numerous thoughts and attemps before settling down with 'Lace-woman'. Ofcourse, its no character in particular but I think I made it look I gave enough effort to make my costume look somewhat halloween-ly! xP

I was actually inspired by one of Michelle Phan's video 'Lace Eyes' where she stuck small bits of lace on her eyelids. Considering I always wear glasses when I go out, I thought I'd just stick a whole chunk of lace over half of my face to cover up as I tend to get really self-conscious when I don't wear glasses at all. xP

So I guess, that was the final product... lace on my face!

Crave for Leopard

No idea why, but I've been craving a pair of leopard wedges after seeing a really nice (expensive) pair in a store in HK. I personally am not a big fan of prints, but theres something about leopard prints that makes everything look so much more chic! 

I've told myself not to buy anymore heels from now on, and I've stuck with this for at least 6 months now. As much as I love looking at heels, they are not the most comfortable things in the world... as well as that, I'm pretty tall anyway so every time I go out in heels I get really self-consious.... maybe I just need to make more tall friends! xP 

Betcha Gon Know

I was on a roll with my blog posting until I came to uni! It's been a while everyone! =)) Year 2 has officially started and it's taken me some time to settle in into our new house. We've had numerous problems with literally everything but thankfully most of it has been sorted or is in the process of being sorted out.
Internet -- possibly one of the most crucial aspects of student life took 6 days for it to be set up!! You can imagine the pain and the boredom I had to endure.. T_T but at least I had my housemates to keep me company. ;) (definitely some secretly good times! xP) And some future advice for students... do not go with Virgin Media internet, its an absolute crappy network with mega slow loading times despite having signed up for a 30MB package!

But anyway.. ROLL ON Freshers' Week

Best thing I love about LookBook is I can get inspiration from real people around the world especially when I'm in a situation where I need to clear out my wardrobe and update my late summer/autumn style. And for some reason, at the moment, I'm so into long oversized drapey tops that can be tucked into shorts at the front, so after a nice little browse around on the net, I found a tonne of inspiration from these four people which I'd like to share. 

Gina dons a long simple drapey top with a pair of denim shorts along with an oversized knitted cardigan and sneakers providing a casual and tom-boy feel. This is definitely I'd wear on a normal day to day basis, it shows minimal effort yet maximum style at the same time. 

Patrycija however, emits more of a chic vibe with also a simple tee and shorts, but instead is worn with a clean cut boyfriend blazer. This particular inspiration is not just about the outfit but the bright orange clutch that steals your gaze within moments you set eyes on this image, it shows simple accessories like these can really steal the show. This is also a good reminder for me to start hunting for a new clutch! 

Alexandra on the other hand exudes a feminine 80's look in which she is seen posing nicely in a white collared buttoned shirt that is tucked within a pair of skinny jeans at the front. I really like how this outfit looks on her, but if I were to wear it, I don't think I'd be able to pull this off as equally well as her... although it's a look to keep in mind! 

Lastly, Wendy Ngyuen is a fashion blogger who I recently started following and in my opinion has an incredible sense of style! Her purple heels are definitely a great attempt in colour blocking her outfit and I'm actually in love with her long brown knitted top in the second picture! Most of her fashion stuff she posts are things that I'd wear, so if you are intrigued, you should definitely check her blog out by clicking on her link beneath the pictures! 

A D R E N A L I N E

Mischievous behaviour, daredevil rides, sinuous queues, having too much fun it was almost criminal were the components that made my Thorpe Park adventures. It has been so long since I've been to Thorpe Park so it was a nice addition to my summer when the family decided to spontaneously go the night before.

It turns out I'm the wuss of the family since I didn't manage to go on every ride they wanted to.. i.e. The Detonator which is one of those mega drop rides, that hangs you in mid-air for a number of terrifying seconds until gravity gives way.. yea not a huge fan! But I was excited about the roller-coasters!! Although I did feel really sick towards the end...  +_+
Since we had so much fun... we didn't really get a chance to eat while we were there! So we headed towards Central London, China Town for some Malaysian food! Not sure whether it was because I was so hungry, but mann, that was some GOOD FOOD!! I can eat some of that right now.... xP

Scottish Sun

Scottish Thistle  

So at the end of July, I went back to my birth place-- Dundee, Scotland for a week to pay a visit around town as well as to see my grandparents. And despite my bad memory.. I don't ever recall Scotland being this warm EVER. It was the hottest week that I've experienced since I came back from Hong Kong! I shouldn't be complaining really...  but I wasn't prepared, since I mostly bought my autumn wardrobe along with 2 hoodies thinking I was going to freeze to death! Turns out that was a waste of baggage..

Aside from that though, I got to stroll along the sandy beaches of Dundee, talk a walk in the wild that Scotland is known for and eat really nice seafood! =))
