Christmas

So I've just been reading what I wrote last year about Christmas on my blog.. and depressing enough, this Christmas has just been the same as ANY other day that I've experienced.

Last year.. I wrote about how I had no Christmas tree, wrote not Christmas cards, bought no presents.. pahh, nothing has changed this year except the fact that it has gotten worse... we didn't even have TURKEY for christ sakes.
You're probably thinking oh, maybe you just don't celebrate/believe in christmas. HMM, we DID celebrate it, just not anymore..

If it snowed, it probably would have made it remotely better. But it didn't.

Another reason to add to my list as to why Christmas is not my thing anymore..

I bloody hit a deer when I was driving.

I don't think I managed to kill it, because when I drove back.. its body wasn't there, and there wasn't any blood. However, just to top things off, it created a massive scratch at the front of my bumper. GREAT. Now I just need to fork out about £200 to get it replaced! T_T

To be honest, I really hope next year is going to be better. SERIOUSLY BETTER. I'm going to re-read this again in the future and think omg... I'm such a "HUT JAI" >_<;;

All that aside.. I wish everyone else had a better Christmas than me! =))

Song Cover - Navi's 길에서

I feel so embarrassed posting this... but I thought I'd give this a shot. This is my first attempt in singing Navi's 길에서. which is an old favourite ballad of mine. =))
Obviously, its not as great as the original version.. but I welcome constructive criticism!-- and OH, excuse my Korean pronunciation!

and its my birthdayy tomorrow!! Last post as an 18 year old! eek! I hope it will stop snowing so I can go out!! >_<;;

Meet Hatsune Miku

Not something I would usually post about.. but ever since one of my friends posted a link of Hatsune Miku on facebook, I've been forever fascinated!

Unsurprisingly a Japanese innovation, Hatsune Miku, a supposed 18 year old, is the first virtual Vocaloid singing sensation developed in Japan, and thats not even where my fascination begins! She has played at sold-out concerts with fans of more than 25,000 as a 3D hologram! Its craaazy in the sense that people (mainly little girl/anime-obessed guys) would become so obsessed over an animation! If you don't believe me, check the following clips out!

Maybe her songs aren't my cup of tea, but I'm just totally engrossed in the fact that such technology exists in producing one of these amazing virtual singers! Talk about manufactured popstars!!
The Japanese music industry has now reached to a whole new level! LOL

Landann

I spent my last weekend with 3 of my international friends in London. One Canadian, American and Australian. Took them to all the touristy places we could go in 2 days and 3 nights! To be honest.. I felt like I failed as a tour guide! We managed to get lost twice.. and on the Sunday, I woke up 2 hours later than I was supposed to!! Oh wells, I think they survived alright without me! xP

It was nice being back down in the south again.. as much as I'm enjoying being in Leeds, its just not the same in the north! Although being back in London meant I could go home.. I didn't manage to do that. I felt kinda bad not seeing my family when I was so close to home. However, I did manage to meet up with my mother and 3 of my cousins! =))

Only 2 weeks left of uni and then I'm homebound!!

On the London Eye overlooking Parliament and the Big Ben -- although not the nicest of all weather!

Clubbing in London with my Canadian friend.. hence why I got up so late on the sunday!

The 3 tourists lol

Hardcore protesters camping outside parliament

I didn't manage to take many photos to be honest.. didn't feel the need to since I'm most likely to see all this stuff again within a month or so! xP I was too busy taking photos of my friends for them! xP But overall, I had a good time! =))

I was expecting to buy a lot in London.. but I only managed to get a pair of nice warm shoes from Topshop
MILEY Fur Buckle Boots - £36
I've been on a long hunt for shoes like these.. ! Every winter.. I survive with wearing pumps and converses because I just don't see the appeal in UGGS. Thats why as soon as I saw these, I had to get them! Now my feet are finally warm! eeeee =))

Shopping continued back in Leeds...

LUCCA Silky Floral Zip Playsuit - £55

I actually tried this on when I was in London.. but I didn't feel like I needed to buy it. However, as soon as I got to Leeds, I regretted my decision and decided to purchase it at Urban Outfitters! Oh my bank account!!

My temptation does not stop there unfortunately... ASOS sent an email round offering next day delivery on all orders placed before 5pm on Thursday. Sooo... had a quick browse and bought a dress. *sighs*

MOTEL Lace Insert Dress - £25

It looks provocative.. but it's actually not too bad! Overall.. happy buy! =)) Plus I needed something for my birthday anyway!

Annie is my name, fannys are my game.

"Me: So what happens if there is a war between China and the Philippines?
Her: I'll just fight for China, because I'm only quarter Filipino"

BIEL BIEL, BIELARUS, BEL, annieballs (personal fav), biglips -- whatever you want to call her.
Meet my partner in crime... ANNABEL CHUNG (..and declared in an "open relationship" on facebook.. =S)

No. She hasn't convinced me to become a lesbo. She's just a freak of nature who gets an orgasm every time she sees a picture of Angelina Jolie just because they both share the same feature of having big ass lips. LOL
Whats the point of this post you ask? Well, annieballs over here insisted that I should dedicate a special post to her because I never write a long wall comment on her facebook. I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY ANNABEL FOR INTERRUPTING MY ESSAY WRITING!

and just for the amusement...

Here is annie's amazing 3D glasses dance on skype.
LOVE LOVE LOVE. =))

meow?

I have to admit.. dressing up really isn't my kinda thing. I'm a bit of a lazy sod (who's also pretty poor atm!), so when it comes to costume hunting.. I'm not the type of gal you'd want to go with as I'm not particularly creative in that department!

So, as you'd have thought.. finding something to wear for a halloween party was like getting blood out of a stone for me especially with my extremely low budget!! Originally.. I thought I'd go as a ninja (inspired by one of Michelle Phan's ninja video last year) because.. tbh, its just sticking a t-shirt over your head and BAM you're a ninja! EASY! Well.. I thought about it again, and decided I'll probably get too hot, and die of suffocation and importantly, how else am i going to drink? Pull it down every time? nahh i think not!

My other alternative was a 'flower woman'? lol. Nono, not the hippie type, but more of a makeup kinda idea inspired by this Japanese makeup guru on youtube whos an absolute genius. Check her out below.

So I went out to buy a flower corsage from Primark specifically for it.. It was actually a major fail on my part.. it didnt look that great tbh. Another dilemma I had was that I didnt have anything to wear with it.. hmm

Therefore, my last resort was to go as a cat. £2.50 spent on cat ears and a collar that had a bell! (unfortunately, my bell was ripped off, and i lost my cat ears in the club) Annnd here was my final look... lol

haha looking wilddd? lol

I actually had a pair of green circle lens on.. perfect for the occasion!

just general goofing around..

Happy Halloweeen everybody! =))

There ain't no party like an S CLUB partayy!

Last week was such a hectic week for me! I went out on Monday for a pub quiz (didn't win unfortunately.. lol) and on Tuesday, I went to see....... S CLUB 3 -- yep, you read it right!! lol

Diminished to only 3 members, Jo, Bradley, and Paul, I have to admit, it was a pretty good night! It revived many of my childhood memories. I remember so vividly when me and my little friends used to imitate them and have mini concerts outside on the playground during lunch time in year 4! I was always chosen to be Tina.. just because I had dark hair! .. oh good times!

Obviously a REACH moment there! xD

Jo (my ex-favourite member.. before her racist media explosion)

Paul -- who has gotten FAT!

annd Bradley.. who hasn't changed at all!

Me and my flatmate Emily <3

Definitely one of my best moments in Uni so farr! =)) Halloween party tomorrow.. I've decided to go as a cat, but I'll leave that for another post!

Topshop Student 20% off excitement!

So for all Topshop lovers out there, if you didn't know, Topshop had a special event catered specifically towards us poor students! xP
20% off on all their stock between 6-10pm on specific days depending where you are in the UK. Although it started 2 weeks ago, there are still a few places doing it this week! Soo.. if you're interested, check out their facebook event!

So in Leeds, the event happened last week for 2 days. I went with my friend to check it out on wednesday. We got there at about 5.45pm and the queue was already like a mile long already! o_O; But luckily... as soon as they opened their doors, it moved pretty quickly. But as you imagine, with a queue that long... the place was pretty crowded!

I managed to find 2 pieces of clothing that I quite liked.. but the queue to the changing rooms was maahoosive, so they had to direct half of the line towards the Topman changing rooms which wasn't so bad of a wait after all!

So enough talk.. here's what I managed to get.

An oversized knitted shawl cardigan

Drape pocket Hareem trousers

The two combined was £78 but with the 20% off, it came to £62.40.. T_T My bank account is running dry far too quickly nowadays! But since I spent over £50, they gave me a free fabric Topshop bag with a few goodies such as a mirror, sweets and some face cream. =))

I've never actually bought any trousers from Topshop before, and the idea of hareem style never really appealed, but for some reason, I really liked the ones I bought!

But yeah.. I can't afford to spend anymore now. I need to start living like a hermit again! xP

I'M IN UNI BABBBYY!

Again... LONG NO SEE for the Nth time!

I'm now well and alive in universityy! =)) I moved in about 3 weeks ago, but it feels like I've been here for MONTHS!! In short, my experience here has been nothing but amazing! I have the nicest flatmates and I've met the greatest of all people hence the lack of time I have updating this blog! >_<

My perception of university has always been party party party.. and yes, it really is.. LOL! Work is starting to pile up.. if you don't know, I'm doing Economics and Geography with Japanese as one of my electives. Sooo, you can imagine the workload I'm getting atm! AHHH!

oh wells.. as they all say.. work hard, play harder! hahah xP

and just a few pictures...

andd.. my room! (before messy!)

I guess thats all for now! I'll try and keep things updated as often. =))

Late Update!

my room is in the midst of cleaning.. xP

You know you've been slacking when you always feel like starting each entry with the words.. "long time no see". Ah mann, sorry. I haven't had time lately to blog and I've sorta been losing inspiration!
Someone inspire mee! =)) -- maybe another ulzzang post soon? Since most of my visitors only visit my ulzzang posts. >_<;;

I know I promised to update my Hong Kong trip.. (which feels like it happened a lifetime ago!!), but something went wrong with the photos.. and I'm having major difficulties with uploading, so.. maybe another time, when people are still interested. haha!

So just to update a few things since I last posted..  I GOT INTO UNIVERSITY! and I can't wait to move in on the 15th!! =)) I spent countless nights worrying about results, I'm just so glad its all over now! It's time to start the next chapter of my life!

Other than great news however.. comes the sad news.

My "Sister" also known as Jessica Yeung left a couple of weeks ago to China for her year abroad. T_T Yep.. A WHOLE YEAR. oh mann. I'm going to miss her so much! I regret not taking enough pictures and spending enough time with her. But I'm glad she spent her last few days in UK with her BEZZIES (lol!) Annie, Mel and I. =))

To Jess;

I hope you read this... ! =)) Its truly sad to know that I won't be able to see your face again.. till next year! T_T But I'm sure it will pass incredibly quickly, and you'll be back in UK before you know it!
I wish you all the very best and keep me up-to-date with your daily adventuress! =)) and obviously continue our amazing game of 'Word Association' with Annie just to wind her up! pahhaha!

Love youu
xxxxxxx
Just to end this post.. I'm going to link you to 2NE1's teaser to their song 'It Hurts' -- I can't fricken wait till their album drops!! =))

Random Banter: Facebook Stalking

I'm backk! Back from sunny and humid Hong Kong to rainy depressing England! I've actually got many entries of my holiday to post, but since its taking forever to upload photos they'll be sitting in drafts for now. =))

But today is just going to be some random banter from me...

Recently, I met up with a distant friend whom I rarely keep in contact with. It was really good seeing her again since I haven't spoken to her in such a long time! Obviously during one of these catch-up sessions, you would expect to have a lot to talk about ie. whats been going on in your life since you last saw her, what you're doing next etc. But what I didn't expect was the fact she knew most of the things I did anyway even without having kept in contact!

How?

Through Facebook stalking. -- An unhealthy act which facebook users inevitably do once in a while.. (or regularly..xP)

C'mon.. who's NOT done it?
I confess I've done it countless of times.. a bit of stalking doesn't hurt (unless you're going to the extent of pedophilia.. =S). But what really worried me was that after every tidbit I told her, she would go somewhere along the lines of..
"ah, yea.. I knew it was that.." and I'd be like
"Erm.. really? how?" and she'd say
"Oh, facebook's my source ;)"

So from that, I got the idea that I'm either being WAYY to open on facebook, OR.. she's a REALLY good facebook stalker.
Personally I'm not sure whether its a good thing to claim you're a facebook stalker to the person you're talking to.. especially when you're catching-up and all. It would just run the conversation a bit dry don't you think? But thankfully, I do know her and she's an incredibly sweet person =)) otherwise, I'd be a bit freaked out if I was talking to a random-er and they'd be like "Oh I Know what you've been up to ;)". But the conversation overall turned out well since I didn't know a lot about what she was doing. =))

But yes.. that was all I wanted to share really.. the knock-on effect of facebook stalking onto your 'external' social life. Obviously its going to be different depending on the person you talk to and how much stalking that person does but I'd actually like to give my friend props for owning up to facebook stalking! Because I'd never have the guts! hahaha! =))
Feel free to share any of your facebook stalking experiences! xP

Peace! <3

Korean BBQ

credits*picture taken from openrice.com

Oh dearr. I haven't really been keeping track of what I have been doing lately! I've been busier than expected and internet has been very temperamental! xP
Since its been so long from my last update, I'm just going dedicate a post to a specific subject.. that way it becomes more orderly (how I like it xP) and easier to write about. So in this post's case... KOREAN FOOD!! hahhah

Its been a tradition for me to eat Korean food in Hong Kong since the summer of 2007, and its not just ANY Korean food, but Korean BBQ at Jin Luo Bao (I think!) located in Causeway Bay (if you're interested... lol). Although pricey.. its so WORTH it, considering I only eat it once a year.. !!

Basically I just choose a selection of marinated meat for the BBQ (as seen above), and it comes with a variety of side dishes i.e Kimchi =)) Rice and soup are also included.. along with ice-cream for dessert. I'm so good at making it sound tasty... hahha but trust me, its the best Korean food I've ever eaten! xP

Lim, from the Wonder Girls has also been there!! I saw her autograph on one of the Wonder Girls' posters! Sadly no picture to prove it >_<;; there were people queuing in front who were blocking the view!

During that week, I met up with my Aunts whom I haven't seen since I was about 3 along with their 11 and 12 year old daughters! Since they've never had Korean food, I took them to a Korean BUFFET so they could choose what they wanted to eat.
Bear in mind, I've never actually been to this place before, so I didn't know whether the food was going to be good. But OMG, since it was a buffet, I literally had an EAT-TO-YOUR-HEART'S-CONTENT fest. I think I must have gained at least 10lbs after that night!! oh dearrrr! But I tell myself.. "whats the point in not eating when you go back to HK?! If you do that.. you might as well NOT GO! Theres too much good food to not miss out on! xP
And to make myself feel even better... I just tell myself that I'll lose it when I go to uni since I applied for self-catering! PAH... we'll see how that goes. xD

Anyways back to the food... can't say it was as great as the one I usually go to, but it was a situation where you 'pay less for more'. xP

Since I was too busy eating.. I forgot to take pictures.. HAHHAH. So I'm afraid I've only got that one picture to show!

Till the next post! =))

Sunday 11 July 2010

I fell asleep in Starbucks.

DAY 2

So today was yet another very hectic dayy.. I was meant to renew my HK ID and China visa card but that didn't happen. The booking was full at the HK ID place and this consequently led to the failure attempt in renewing my China visa card (because my HK ID wasn't updated) despite having waited 2 and a half hours in the queue!!

oh ma gaad!

But it all got better after that, because I got to spend the rest of the day eating sushi and shopping at Sha Tin shopping Plaza. =))

Look at all this sushi! HEAVEENN!

During shopping, I was specifically on a hunt for Dollywink products! I always seen them around on the internet, but never in their actual form, so I got really excited when I saw a STASH of them sitting nicely on a promotion shelf in a Japanese department store. =))

I got the liquid eyeliner, pencil eyeliner, eyelash case and eyelashes in 'Natural Girly' No.3. I'll be doing a separate post on this once I've had a test on everything. =))

Other stuff I got included a Majolica Majorca Blush, a trio of Skinfood masks, a KATE green eyeshadow palette and a Japanese ViVi Magazine with Kana Nishino on the cover. =))

You know how I said in my last post that I wasn't suffering too much from jetlag? Well.. I take that back. haha. I was SO tired yesterday.. SO tired that I had to sleep for an hour in Starbucks. How embarassing.. ! But obviously my trip to Starbucks couldn't be without a Green Tea Frapp (first picture). Oh how I wish we had this back in England.

Later on in the day.. I met up with my family again. Brother and Sister both came back with really Hong-Kong haircuts. haha.

So another day awaits meee.. Still have so much to do! See you in my next post! =))

Friday 9 July 2010

HONG KONG DAY 1

Hurray! I have arrived in Hong Kong anddd.. I have internet! =)) Tough to the person who didn't set a password to access their internet! muahahh!

DAY ONE

I got about 3 hours sleep on a 12 hour journey! >_<;; So obviously I was mega tired as soon as I stepped foot on ground. I arrived at about 1.40pm and didnt get home till about 3 ish?
In most cases, after a long journey with lack of sleep, I would collapse onto something horizontal as soon as I reach home, however on this occasion, my mother decided we both needed a haircut. Random.. but it was a most needed scenario seeing as I'll be taking a photo for my HK ID tomorrow.

So.. haircut can be seen in the photo above. My fringe is now shorter.. and I have more layers in my hair (don't think you can really tell with the bad lighting in my room). Length-wise, its still the same. I'm going back later on during my holiday to dye my hair. Colour is yet undecided. ;)

A meal with the family especially those you don't see often is a must on a first-day-back. In this case.. it was with my Grandma. Bless her, she is the cutest person I know despite having such an impatient nature. But the one thing that gets me really frustrated with asian grandparents is that they ALWAYS try and force you to eat.. even after they know you've just had a massive meal. ah dearr..
but I still love her <3.

Anyways, I'm currently not suffering too much from jetlag, but I am mega tired. So I'm off to bed now! =))

Nighhtt.
